Below is Paris Hilton’s Brazilian Ad for Devassa beer. She’s hot, Brazil is hot, the beer is ice cold so what’s the problem? Apparently the ad is too hot for Brazilian TV. Knowing Brazil as I do this decision surprises me.
But my impression of Brazil’s position towards women is somewhat wrong. There is in Brazilian society a very high incidence of macho and chauvinistic behaviour towards women but Brazilian women are no pussy-cats. Now attitudes are changing and it is this change that decided this ad be taken down.
