Dave Knight’s Blog, What’s It About?
I started the blog to record a 3-month trip to Brazil that started on November 23, 2009 when jumped on a British Airways flight from Heathrow airport, London to São Paulo’s Guarulhos airport in southern Brazil. I had flown to Guarulhos many times but this was the first time it was to be my exit airport and only the second time visiting São Paulo. On previous occasions Guarulhos was where I connected for a flight to the cities Goiania or Belo Horizonte.
The blogging went well and was read by some of my friends when they could be bothered and about three or four strangers. It was very popular though with spammers so I am pleased I was was of service to someone.
Then disaster. The blog template broke. Oh no! Nightmare! Now an admission, I am very impatient with things when they don’t work as they should do and I sulk. This is why I’ve only just got round to fixing the problem, six months later. Not all of that is entirely true but never mind it’s as good an excuse as any.
I had to take down the entire site and re-install everything and it was far too complicated for me to put the posts back as they were. OK I admit it it’s because I forgot to back up the database. Silly me. Still I will put everything back manually and probably rehash some of the stories. Might even get one or two more readers for my trouble.
But here’s the good news Dave Knight’s Blog is not just going to be about travel to Brazil it’s going to include articles about London life and going out in this fantastic city. There will be stuff about interesting places to visit in the UK and Europe.
Oh yes and I love movies so I’m going to write about the films I watch. From time to time I’ll talk about selling stuff on eBay, tips on blogging, good wine I’ve discovered and books I’ve read.
